A Realistic Eloquii Try-On

I’m on a hunt to find the most stylish plus-size clothing for us to wear. 

Ever since I made the In Full Figure Instagram account, the algorithm has been popping off with all these plus-size baddies and their fashion guides. 

So what about me? A simple woman who would love to afford these clothes and doesn’t have a stylish bone in her body.  Well, I guess you could say I’m trying to figure it out now.

I started my corporate job, and now I’m at an age (the age being literally 22) where I want to be more fashionable and find pieces where I feel comfortable and can express myself. So I’ve decided to start over and find new clothes. 

I’m honestly so tired of companies and their paper-material clothes. I used to be able to rationalize it by telling myself I’m a broke college student and I didn’t want to stay at this weight, so why spend all that money on clothes I won’t be wearing in a year? Except 5 years have gone by, and, well, I haven’t lost a pound. 

I guess reality has finally hit me. Being used to $5 shirts that rip the second you wear them is not feasible. So if I’m going to invest, I’m going to invest properly.

And you know what, even though I’m still going to try and lose weight, I can still have fun and dress up. Why not? Am I not allowed to? 

Don’t answer that, it was rhetorical. 

The correct answer is, we are allowed to. 

I decided Eloquii was the brand to try. 

The best way I can describe Eloquii is it’s the most chic plus-size style you can find.

They have sizes 14 to 32.

I’m an 18/20, and every single style I see does not make me feel like a grandma, so I have hopes. 

Denim Fitted Square Top & Trumpet Maxi Skirt – $116.94

I’m someone who needs coordinated pieces because I don’t have the fashion sense…yet. 

Don’t judge me, I’m learning. 

But right now I need the cheat sheet, and co-ords do just that. 

I feel like denim is trending right now. 

The model? She ate. Me? I ate too much, but that’s fine!

I love the denim fitted square top. The button did fall off from the trumpet maxi skirt, which surprised me given the price (even though I did get it at a discount). I also got the skirt in a size 20, which felt looser than a regular pair of jeans I would buy. A little disappointed because I lost the button, but I sewed a new one on and I still like it enough to wear it again.

High Neck Bubble Top & Semi-Sheer Chiffon Circle Skirt – $94.94

I’m really loving this chicory coffee high neck bubble top. At first it took some getting used to. I got a little lost trying to put it on, but it really is a simple halter top. I adore the skirt. There is a mini-length lining under the sheer layer, making it comfortable to wear in the light. I can genuinely see myself wearing this with my hair up in a bun. It just looks so good.

Sleeveless Scarf Detail Top – $44.97

Remember how I said I started a corporate job?

Well, I currently work for a huge beauty company and right now I feel like I don’t even look like I belong there. I need pieces that scream corporate chic, and this top is doing exactly that. I love the little extra scarf attachment. Once paired with nice trousers, I’ll feel put together.

Knit Capelet Top -$41.97

Ponchos. I’ve been seeing them everywhere and I love it. They are absolutely worth the hype. The material is so soft and it does create a different silhouette than what I’m typically used to. You can layer this on top of a tank or bodysuit, but I think you should just put on a bandeau and let that stomach be free!

The only catch with this one: it’s white. And I spill stuff constantly… So let’s hope this stays clean for longer than a week.

Sheer Dramatic Chiffon Cape – $59.97

This is chiffon cape is very much outside my comfort zone. But imagine it with jeans and some cute heels at a rooftop bar! I feel like it would be cool. I will say, though: confidence is a big part of wearing this piece. If you’re not feeling confident, it might feel like it’s wearing you instead of the other way around. But, nonetheless, I think it’s really worth trying out!
